Waste disposal
Where to dump the rubbish
There’s no waste collection service directly from your apartment building in Tbilisi. Instead, there are designated large rubbish bins located on the streets, where people who live nearby can dispose their household waste.
These bins are emptied daily by the city’s waste collection service, and we recommend disposing of your household waste in these bins on a daily basis to keep the apartment clean and avoid unpleasant odours and, perhaps, insects related problems.
You can find the nearest rubbish bins at the either end of the Shrosha street, one across the street from Georgita and Magniti supermarkets and the other one, a little bit further away, on the Mtskheta steet, near the Tsre gym and the Slovenian embassy.

As far as we know, most rubbish in Tbilisi is not sorted for recycling purposes. You may see some bins are of different color and some have recycling signs, but the locals don’t differentiate them. Some shops provide bins for environmentally hazardous items such as batteries and electric appliances, we used at least one batteries collection bin in the Carrefour supermarket.
Unfortunately you can also see some people dumping their rubbush on the streets, between the buildings or in the bushes, please don’t be like those people, use the bins.
